One of Colorado's own made Forbes list of Ugliest Mansions

Many of us have seen this home overlooking I70 between Denver and Genesee Mountain.  Architect Charles Deaton began building it in 1963, but ran out of money before it was finished. Three decades later,  John Huggins purchased the house and built a large addition designed by Deaton with Nick Antonopolous before Deaton's death in 1996, and commissioned Deaton's daughter Charlee to design the interior, completed in 2003.
The home has been described by many names, but most recently was named by Forbes as one of seven of  America's  uglist mansions!.

Sell Your Home Quickly by Pricing it Right

A first-quarter survey of homebuyers and sellers done by HomeGain.com, a real estate services website, revealed that 76 percent of homeowners believe their home is worth more than the list price recommended by their real estate agent.
Buyers usually have a better grasp of the market values in the areas they are looking to live in.  Their Realtor® is providing them with the most up-to-date information so the offer on a home is reasonable.

Knowing that as a seller, and knowing that the best time frame for your home to sell is when it is first on the market, don't you think getting advise from an experieced Realtor® is a smart move?

Do you want to know the Value of your home?  I can give you a comparative market analysis if you have property in Summit County, Colorado or in the greater Denver Metro Area.
Email me with your address, and I will get the ball rolling and let you know what your home could sell for.

Get Your Home Ready to Sell in 30 Days

My wife and I sold our home in 45 days  over a year ago when the Real Estate market was at its lowest.  We prepared and staged our home and then made sure our home was show "ready" 24/7.
Amy Hahn, a REALTOR® in Crystal Coast, NC, has provided the perfect list if you are thinking of putting your home on the market.   Some are common sense, But she really provided some unique ideas as well.  My favorites are number 29 and 30!
29. Buy a laundry basket or bin for each family member and place in the laundry room or a closet for everyday pickup.  When your REALTOR® calls you to schedule a showing, each family member grabs their basket/bin and runs around filling it with items that need to be put away.  Then deliver the items to where they belong.
30. On this day, I want you to rest!  Call your REALTOR®, let them know you want to sell your home and schedule a meeting.  Tell them to go ahead and bring their camera, because the house is READY!

Frisco Main Street Hits its Summer Stride

Frisco’s  business community is hitting its stride, with shops owners along Main street showing the best-ever sales this summer as the streets fill with pedestrians and shoppers who stop for a bite or even stay the night after day-time recreation
“Frisco has done a great job of throwing events, the music and things,” Rocky Mountain Coffee Roasters Co-owner Nate Post said. “It’s just accumulated over the years. People come for an event and see, ‘Oh, it’s a nice town to hang out,’ and they say, ‘Let’s go back up there.’”
The hot weather here in Denver could be a factor in the number of visitors to the high county, but remember  it's always nice to be in the mountains, summer or winter

Frisco is a great community that is close to 4 major ski resorts and a nice home town feel to it  I should know, I lived in the area for 35+ years.  If you want to live there, call me, I can help you locate the mountain property of your dreams!

I am a Denver Metro area real estate agent with strong ties to the mountain communities of Keystone, Dillon, Frisco, Silverthorne,  and Breckenridge. Secrets of Cheyenne Mountain

This week the 9NEWS morning show has been taking the viewer on a rare behind-the-scene  look at the underground military installation known as Cheyenne Mountain.  an unheard of  glimpse into the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).
Since it was first built, Cheyenne Mountain has fired the imaginations of people the world over, and made them uneasy too.
This story is compelling and interesting, and gives us an inside view of how our National Security works...but not everything is told.
Through the eyes of Jack Maher (and his three escorts) you will see the complex, and the secrets, 2,000 feet inside a mountain.   Take a moment to watch this story.  This is part of Colorado History and our role in defending our country.

The Denver Housing Makret is hot right now....I also just read that 30 year fixed mortgage rates rose this past week to 3.55%, first time in a while that rates have gone up.  The housing market is changing in the Denver metro area.  If you are thinking of buying or selling  property, the time is now.
